Barry M Matte Nail Paint Review

The Barry M matte nail paints were something that I featured on my Weekend Want List here, and I did get around to buying the colour that I wanted which was Vanilla. My sister also picked up espresso from the matte range too which is just a black colour. The polish however isn’t really a vanilla shade it’s sort of this light greige neutral colour with a pink/purple undertones to it. Personally I think this looks flattering on the nails and the formula of these are great. Your nails dry quick and you get that instant matte effect, obviously there is no need to apply a top coat as you want the matte nail look so a couple of coats of this and you are good to go. This is a nail colour that goes with everything and the only downside to this is that it chipped on me around day 2, however my sister managed to wear hers for a whole week without any chips?! Overall if you want the matte look instantly and fancy trying these they have a few other shades in the collection a few neutrals a red and the black one equalling a total of five in the Barry M matte range. Barry M is always on offer and even when it isn't its pretty inexpensive!

Do you like the matte nail trend; have you tried any of these? Let me know and I hope you all have a lovely week! X

Summer Shoes...

The weather has been brightening up here in England and that of course means I can finally start buying and wearing sandals and flats again! It’s not that I don’t wear flats in the winter it’s just I tend to opt for wearing cute ankle boots that’s all plus they keep your feet warmer! So a few weeks ago I went out and purchased more summer appropriate shoes, I had been eyeing up a pair of sandals on the New Look website and when I saw them in store I had to have them!

First we have this pair of flats which my dad actually found for me (my dad has exceptionally good fashion sense and actually finds some really nice things!). They have black suede material and they have this cute checked square design on the front of the toe. I really like these and they are surprisingly comfortable. Both appropriate for school and going out I can tell I’m going to get a lot of wear out of them!

The next pair of shoes are these sandals very simple in design but look so chic, I love them! The brown and coral are really nice colours paired together and are great for the summer! I like the slight wedge on them as well as they give me a little bit of height, now I did try these on in store as they only have the strap along the front and nobody wants the dreaded snaggle toe! If you don’t know what that is just search it up on Google (Warning it is disgusting!). Thankfully no snaggle toe occurs in these shoes for me, phew! They look really sleek on and I think I’ll be wearing these and awful lot this summer!

So that’s it just a couple of pairs of new shoes in my collection perfect for the summer months, have you bought any summer shoes recently? Hope you enjoyed this and I hope you have a lovely weekend! x

Necklace upon Necklace...

So I thought I would do a little post about some of my favourite necklaces in my collection. Now I tend to opt for buying necklaces over any other type of jewellery and this I feel is because a necklace can really change an outfit and complete it and a lot of these necklaces I have worn countless times. Each one has a little story attached to it, and I will list where I got them from but I am afraid I’m not sure you can get any of these particular ones anymore…sorry! So let’s get onto the necklaces…

1.       Accessorize Heart Necklace

This little necklace is one of the more recent editions to the collection and was given to me by my friend Rachael for Christmas, thanks Rach! It’s silver, cute and dainty and it’s nice that it has a longer chain as well. This is a necklace I reach for when I’m not sure what one I want as it usually goes with everything!

2.       Republic Robot Necklace

Now I bought this around the time before Republic shut down, when I saw this I couldn’t resist it, it was so cute and it’s a little robot with glasses, a nerdy robot! I actually got this for a pound and I was shocked when I got up to the till to pay for it none the less it was a great find!

3.       Topshop Camera Necklace

This I found a few years ago in the summer in the Topshop jewellery sale and I fell in love with it, it’s orange not something I would usually go for and it is quite a chunky necklace. I knew I had to have it though when I saw this and plus I think I got it for like £3! I don’t wear it that often and I really should!

4.       Topshop Owl Necklace

Another Topshop necklace and this time it’s an owl, I was obsessed with owls a few years back and I really don’t know why, I think they were the cool ‘it’ animal at the time or something like that anyway?! So I remember I had spotted this in a magazine and once I saw it, I wanted it, I remember looking frantically for it at the jewellery section, and then I saw it tucked away hidden at the back it was also the last one there, it was meant to be! I have worn this necklace an awful lot and it will continue to be worn a lot as it’s so cute!

5.       Hilary Duff Collection Heart Necklace

I’m sure we all remember Hilary Duff, you know Lizzie McGuire, throwback! Well this was bought years ago and I mean years ago, I remember Hilary Duff brought out a collection with Claire’s Accessories and it was a range of jewellery and my friend happened to own some of it, we were both massive Hilary Duff fans haha! Once I saw she had some of this jewellery, I was like Dad I need some of it, and my Dad surprised me with this necklace along with another one and some heart earrings from the collection, I was super excited. I have loved this necklace and it has had its fair share of being worn, it’s really simple and is a necklace I reach for a lot.

6.       Republic Lollipop Necklace

It’s another Republic necklace and this I think I bought in the summer of 2012 me and my sister were looking through the jewellery section and I remember spotting this, 1. It has a pink lollipop on it cute, 2.perfect summer necklace and 3. It was only like £4. Also by now you must sense a theme with my necklaces I think they are all cute and how could I not buy this one?!

1.       Claire’s Accessories Star Necklace

My sister actually bought me this necklace and I remember she told me to go away whilst she found me a Christmas present and this is what I got. Its silver has tones of stars clustered along it and it has a smaller chain attached with another star, I love stars and I love necklaces, this is so great for pairing with a plain coloured top as it adds a lot of detail to it. Thank you to my sister for buying this for me!

2.       Accessorize Heart Necklace

I bought this necklace before Christmas in 2012, I had intended to give it to a friend for Christmas although I bought her something else from accessorize so I decided to keep it for myself, haha. I remember it was £5 or something like that because the shop had some sort of sale on and I thought this would be a really nice necklace to pair with loads of outfits. I wear this one quite a lot to school and it’s an easy necklace to throw on if I’m in a rush.

3.       Republic Moustache Necklace

Yes, it’s a moustache necklace…how freaking cute is it?! This I bought at Christmas time before the store shut down and at the time me and my sister loved anything with moustaches on it, didn’t everyone at some point? Anyway she had picked up a moustache necklace that was plain gold then I spotted this one that was sparkly! I had to have it and I have worn this, ridiculous amounts of times and I will continue to wear it because look at it, it’s cute!

4.       Republic Triangle Necklace

The last and final one and again it’s from Republic, I guess I must have liked a lot of their jewellery, necklaces in particular! Anyway I bought this one along with my moustache one at the time as statement necklaces had only really just become on trend and I wasn’t brave enough for those at the time so I went with this one. I’m glad I picked this one up as I love it, I’ve worn it loads and it’s kind of a classic piece and can be worn with pretty much anything really!

So that’s it all the necklaces, well not all of them just my favourite ones that I wear all the time. I’m sorry again that you can’t get your hands on any of these! What are some of your favourite necklaces or pieces of jewellery in your collections? Let me know in a comment below! Hope you enjoyed reading this and I hope you have a lovely week! x

It's A Haul...

So since it's the Easter Holidays here in England I have done some shopping, it's to be expected when you have two weeks off, haha! My first trip was on Tuesday where I was off to watch the new Captain America film, which side note was actually freaking amazing, definitely go and see it! So I actually made some sneaky Benefit purchases that day that I had been eyeing up for a while, the They're Real mascara which was a repurchase and the World Famous Neutrals eye kit in Glamorous neutrals, which is so pretty! I also bought the Clean and Clear moisturizer whilst there which was featured on my April Beauty wish list here, along with the Benefit eyeshadow kit! Then I went out on Good Friday for a family meal in Milton Keynes at Red Hot, so good! Then of course we went shopping afterwards, once there I took full advantage of the Boots 3 for 2 offer (yay!) and picked up the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick (love the name!)  in Nudist and a No 7 eyeshadow stick in the colour Cool Mink and then my sister finished off the offer and bought a miss sporty nail polish in a pretty shimmery navy blue colour! My lovely Gran bought us these, so thanks a lot Gran! I'm excited to try and test out all these products and I'm sure I'll let you know how I get on with them! What have you bought recently? Let me know! Hope you all have a lovely Easter Weekend! x

April Beauty Wish List...

So here we have my April beauty wish list, much like my weekend want list from last month, here, it’s a roundup of all the things that I want to add to my beauty collection, it’s quite eye shadow heavy this month I guess there is just a lot of eye shadow out there that I want, haha! So let’s get on with it shall we…

I've wanted to try out the Benefit cream shadows and powder shadows for a while now and this kit combines them both together, perfect. For £23.50 I think this is a reasonable price to try out the selection of shadows, also out of the three kits I feel this one is the one that I would personally get the most use out of! I’m a Benefit fan so hopefully this set is just as good as all the other products I've tried from them!

At the moment the only current single eye shadow I own from MAC is patina which I love (full review here) but I also think I want to add the colour sable to my collection, I feel it's such a wearable colour that’s perfect to swoop all over the lids paired with a few coats of your favourite mascara!

Now I think everyone at some point wants to add an YSL lipstick or gloss to their makeup collection and I had read many raved about reviews for these glosses. With a whopping 24 shades in this range they are split into 3 finishes which are Golden, Iridescent and Pure. I particularly like the colour 205 from the pure range as it’s a lovely orangey toned red colour perfect for Spring/Summer! Although my only issue £21 for a gloss?! It’s crazy but who doesn't love YSL?

This will be a repurchase as I love this cream shadow so much! One it’s affordable and two the colour is amazing and perfect for everyday wear. This has been a staple in my everyday eye look and is something that is so easy to apply just sweep it over the lids, tight line and add some mascara and you are good to go!

A new collection from Rimmel where they teamed up with Rita Ora and brought out some colour rush lip crayons and nail polishes, and I have to say I really like the shades they brought out for both products. It’s more the nail polishes that I’m interested in though particularly the shades, Breakfast in bed a beautiful light mint colour, Don’t be shy a bright pink colour and Lose your lingerie a light baby pink colour reminiscent of Essie’s Fiji! Also currently in Boots selected Rimmel products are 3 for 2 so go out a grab some!

I have been loving my clean and clear exfoliating daily wash and it’s really been working on my skin a treat although as much as it’s clearing up my blemishes I have found that I've been getting some dry patches on my skin. So I’m thinking of picking this up and trying it out as Clean and Clear seems to be really working for me at the moment so I thought I’d try out this moisturizer and see if it works just as good as the face wash!

Now having got this as a Christmas present from my friend Beth back in 2012 I actually fell in love with the fragrance it’s perfect for everyday wear as it’s quite fresh and floral. This scent does have a sophisticated edge to it, plus the bottle I had was in the shape of a heart…so cute! It’s an easy fragrance to wear and I think most people would like this scent!

Now in my last weekend want list, I featured the righteous body butter from soap and glory now I love the scent of that but I have loved the Butter Yourself body butter fragrance a lot more. I don’t know what it is but I just love the scent it’s very fruity but with an edge and when I smell this it’s very nostalgic for some reason. So this’ll probably end up being my body butter purchase of choice at the moment plus who doesn't love Soap and Glory products. Also recently I smelt the new range that Soap and Glory have come out with Orangeasm, I have to say not too keen on this scent I’m afraid!

So that’s a roundup of some of the things I’m lusting after currently! What’s on your beauty wish lists, let me know! Hope you all have a lovely week! X

Essie Lapiz of Luxury

Essie Lapiz of Luxury, £7.99

This isn’t your typical Spring Polish pick but it’s a lovely blue toned polish and is actually surprisingly the only one in my collection, and I'm not surprised as I'm quite fussy about which shades of blue nail polish I like! I was given this by a friend in a set along with the colour muchi muchi as part of the baby girl, baby boy set by Essie, which by the way I love!!

I have to first say that Essie is probably my favourite nail polish brand and they have amazing nail polish colours! Lapiz of Luxury is more of an ocean blue colour with a grey tone running through it which makes it quite a glamorous and sophisticated colour. Perfect for on holiday or at an event or really for whenever!! As always Essie polishes come with the wide set brush that makes it a one swipe easy application on the nails, perfect! Apply a good top coat and you can assure it’ll be long wearing and look shiny for days!! It’s definitely a nail polish that doesn’t chip that easily!

This is definitely a blue tone that I would opt for wearing and if you’re thinking about buying it…then do!! Honestly you can get so much wear out of this colour. What Essie shades are you wearing for Spring? Hope you liked this and I hope you all have a lovely weekend! X
