Smells like summer...

Today it’s sunny in England, shock! So this nice weather has inspired me to write this post about a body lotion that just smells like summer in a bottle! I picked up this bottle in House of Fraser and it’s a Patisserie De Bain body lotion from Rose & Co. I haven’t tried anything from this brand, but the big hook for me on this product is that it smells of coconut ice, I love the sweet smell and it makes me think of summer. The lotion is quite a watery consistency one which I particularly like as it sinks into the skin quickly so it’s a good all over the body moisturiser. It also comes in a pump which is a plus as it’s less messy and better than a tub in my opinion. Also the packaging is pretty standard but looks quite pretty and girly too!

So what’s your smell like summer product let me know! I’m going to enjoy the sunshine this weekend and I hope you all have a lovely weekend doing whatever it is you’re going to do! X

Obsessed with…

Soap&Glory- Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick

Soap&Glory notoriously known for their bath and body range that smells amazing, seriously there is probably a scent for everyone, my personal favourites the righteous body butter and the butter yourself one, is just uh to die for :P But for today I’m showing you something from their Soap & Glory makeup line up.

This was my first ever purchase from the S&G makeup range and OMG do I love it?! Hell yeah! The sexy mother pucker gloss stick in nudist is just wow, it’s my perfect nude. First of all the packaging is just your standard gloss balm packaging but it looks very sleek in black and pink. Second the formula is great really creamy and has build-able colour too, it’s perfect to swipe all over the lips if in a rush! And thirdly it smells like vanilla and sweets what’s not to love about it? Oh plus they are twist up so no annoying sharpening!

They come in five colours and I think I may need to pick up another shade, possibly plum jam? Priced at £8 and available in Boots plus there is always some sort of offer on right? This is probably one of my favourite lip products and I’m obsessed, and I hope you all have a lovely week! X

Moisturiser for spot prone skin?

So back in the Easter holidays I purchased the Clean & Clear dual action moisturiser. The things that I love about this product is that it’s oil free, fragrance free and has a spot-fighting ingredient which helps to prevent blemishes. So for the first few weeks I saw a difference in my skin, I would use the Clean and Clear exfoliating face wash before an then apply this moisturiser afterwards onto my skin, morning and night, as it does sometimes get quite dry after I've cleansed it.

Now it does a perfect job for the top half of my face and this moisturiser has definitely prevented any blemishes however on the bottom half of my face especially around the cheeks and around the chin and jaw line it’s been quite temper mental. It does work sometimes but I’ve found recently my skin has become insanely dry. I don’t know if it’s down to this, as it clears the spots but makes my skin so dry afterwards, it could be down to the salicylic acid but I’ve never had a problem with that ingredient before. I haven’t changed anything in my routine as I like to keep it consistent but maybe my skin has had enough of this.

Clean & Clear are one of my favourite skin care brands and this moisturiser does work for my normal/dry skin combination but I think I need to find something else that battles this dry skin issue that I’m currently having. You can’t have the best of both worlds, get rid of blemishes but then have dry skin L. I would recommend this as I have seen results personally, but it may not work for everyone’s skin type. Have any of you tried this product, what are your favourites from Clean and Clear line, let me know. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! X

Benefit Most Glamorous Nudes Ever Kit

So back in the Easter holidays I picked up this little eye kit from Benefit. I’d had my eyes on this for a while and out of the three kits this is the one that was best suited for me. In the classic cute packaging that we expect from Benefit inside are two of their creaseless cream shadows and four powder shadows (the same size as the mac refill pans). It also comes with two little cards with tips and tricks of how to use these shadows from Day to Night, which is great for those who are new to the whole eyeshadow thing!

Now down to the actual products, the two creaseless cream shadows in this kit are called my two cents and birthday suit. My two cents is a copper colour with a shimmery gold running through it, it’s a really pretty colour just to swipe all over the lid. Birthday suit is a light taupe chrome colour, which is another one that’s great to put all over the lid with a dark shadow blended through the crease. Both of these cream shadows have shimmer running through them, so if that’s not your thing you may not like these that much. I really like these cream shadows they last the whole day on me and true to the name they don’t crease, great! They have a great creamy formula and they are so easy to apply on the lids, I just use my fingers to swipe the colour on. They look quite small however you get 3.2g of product which is quite a lot and it gives you the chance to try them out.

With this kit is also four powder eyeshadows, you have call my bluff which is a pale cream shell colour perfect for applying all over the lid or to use as a highlight for the brow-bone. Next is kiss me, i’m tipsy a dark brown this is great to throw in the crease. It’s complicated is a golden peachy pink colour, now if I’m honest I didn't think I’d like this colour but it’s beautiful paired with kiss me, i’m tipsy in the crease. The last shadow, gilt-y pleasure is a golden shade and this too is gorgeous just on its own. All of these shadows are pigmented and apply well and blend easily. Plus they have really cute names!

Now all of these shadows including the cream ones are part of the permanent line at Benefit to purchase separately. This kit retails at £23.50 and you can get this on most Benefit counters, it’s great to test out their eyeshadow products and see if it’s worth buying them later on. Overall I love this kit and I’m glad I purchased it. Have you tried the Benefit shadows? What do you think of them, let me know. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! x

Barry M Matte Nail Paint Review

The Barry M matte nail paints were something that I featured on my Weekend Want List here, and I did get around to buying the colour that I wanted which was Vanilla. My sister also picked up espresso from the matte range too which is just a black colour. The polish however isn’t really a vanilla shade it’s sort of this light greige neutral colour with a pink/purple undertones to it. Personally I think this looks flattering on the nails and the formula of these are great. Your nails dry quick and you get that instant matte effect, obviously there is no need to apply a top coat as you want the matte nail look so a couple of coats of this and you are good to go. This is a nail colour that goes with everything and the only downside to this is that it chipped on me around day 2, however my sister managed to wear hers for a whole week without any chips?! Overall if you want the matte look instantly and fancy trying these they have a few other shades in the collection a few neutrals a red and the black one equalling a total of five in the Barry M matte range. Barry M is always on offer and even when it isn't its pretty inexpensive!

Do you like the matte nail trend; have you tried any of these? Let me know and I hope you all have a lovely week! X

Summer Shoes...

The weather has been brightening up here in England and that of course means I can finally start buying and wearing sandals and flats again! It’s not that I don’t wear flats in the winter it’s just I tend to opt for wearing cute ankle boots that’s all plus they keep your feet warmer! So a few weeks ago I went out and purchased more summer appropriate shoes, I had been eyeing up a pair of sandals on the New Look website and when I saw them in store I had to have them!

First we have this pair of flats which my dad actually found for me (my dad has exceptionally good fashion sense and actually finds some really nice things!). They have black suede material and they have this cute checked square design on the front of the toe. I really like these and they are surprisingly comfortable. Both appropriate for school and going out I can tell I’m going to get a lot of wear out of them!

The next pair of shoes are these sandals very simple in design but look so chic, I love them! The brown and coral are really nice colours paired together and are great for the summer! I like the slight wedge on them as well as they give me a little bit of height, now I did try these on in store as they only have the strap along the front and nobody wants the dreaded snaggle toe! If you don’t know what that is just search it up on Google (Warning it is disgusting!). Thankfully no snaggle toe occurs in these shoes for me, phew! They look really sleek on and I think I’ll be wearing these and awful lot this summer!

So that’s it just a couple of pairs of new shoes in my collection perfect for the summer months, have you bought any summer shoes recently? Hope you enjoyed this and I hope you have a lovely weekend! x
